Job Description:

A world leader in molecular life sciences and tropical/infectious diseases, James Cook University (JCU) now has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional early career researcher to join our dynamic team of professionals in the Centre for Tropical Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology to strengthen our Bioinformatics capacity in support of research in human health and tropical disease. The position is full-time, fixed term to December 2026 and based at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus. Remuneration is at Academic Level B: $97,856 - $115,465 per annum plus superannuation.

Building on our recent discoveries, we are now seeking an innovative and enthusiastic early career researcher to develop bioinformatics software to support a variety of large genomics projects centred on the role of genetic variation in human disease and host/parasite interactions. In addition to research, you will undertake learning, teaching, and engagement activities, contributing to the development and expansion of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching efforts in Bioinformatics.
