Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent Full-time Day Worker with on call working 76 hours per fortnight.

Salary: $130,322 - $160,257 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.

Who Are We Looking For?

The Department of Health – North West are seeking Career Medical Officers (CMO) in Psychiatry (General). Broad experience in Adult, Older Persons', Child and Adolescent and Inpatient mental health is highly regarded.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work across our diverse sites, ensuring the CMO maximum exposure to advance their skills. The CMO will be fully supported by Consultants, and DOH-North West offer excellent Continuing Professional Development benefits and a supportive working environment.

In this role the CMO will demonstrate their experience and skills in adult and general psychiatry. They will demonstrate the ability to work with psychiatric clients, complex presentations with enduring serious mental illness and associated behavioural problems, working with minimal supervision.

The CMO will also promote and maintain close links with specialists, general practitioners and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care and the ongoing development of the mental health sector.

Appointment to the Classification of Medical Practitioner Level 10-13 (Career Medical Officer) applicants must have completed a minimum of 10 year’ relevant post graduate experience as per the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
