Principal Systems Analyst - Manufacturing
Work Location: Near Perth Airport
Roster: Monday to Friday
FFI's Manufacturing team was established to develop reliable, economic, efficient and high-quality products within a vertically integrated green energy supply chain to de-risk and enhance FFI Project delivery.
This Principal Systems Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the Manufacturing Operations team with advanced financial and business analysis techniques across the manufacturing process. The role will assist the implementation of SAP across the manufacturing team and provide analytical and decision support for Manufacturing Program Managers across various projects including make versus buy scopes, and project risk and deliverables.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Facilitate the Program Managers' capital expenditure request approvals for FFI, working with the broader Fortescue business
- Coordinate the Program Managers' management of FFI’s master data for Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Centres, delegation of authority, and WBS cost definitions
- Identification of cost saving opportunities and efficiency improvements through an indepth understanding of key business drivers and value chain processes
- Engage and work closely with stakeholders at all levels to provide financial insights critical for decision-making across manufacturing operations projects
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure production costs are accurately and timely recorded and process improvements implemented
- Perform thorough variance analysis on cost deviations (Manufacturing material and labour)
- Working closely with senior management providing financial insight critical to decision-making
- Lead the engagement with workstream leads to coordinate development of data infrastructures and alignment in cost centre hierarchy in SAP
- Lead the development of automating and streamlining financial data reporting, using advanced data analytics across the manufacturing operations
- Preparation of various commercial documentation, management of briefing papers

- Manage the SAP project implementation with the new Manufacturing Operations team ensuring relevant processes captured and deliverables met on stretch targets
- Assist the Operations team with tools, reports, etc. and enable to perform a thorough work package review with WP owners
- Review and analyse inventory in detail to ensure work orders are closed in a timely manner and inventory is costed out to jobs properly
- Ensures compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results
Qualifications and skills required:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting or another relevant discipline
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in accounting information systems and extensive SAP experience (essential)
- Previous experience using Anaplan, Power BI, SAP and Excel (essential)
- SAP implementation experience (essential)
- Relevant experience in a commercial accounting or corporate finance function within the Manufacturing Industry (highly desirable)
- Experience with process mapping, and agile delivery of system development
- Highly skilled in manipulating data with advanced problem-solving and business analysis techniques
- Team orientated with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop influential and positive relationships with stakeholders
- An ability to assimilate information quickly and provide accurate advice
- Self-starter with a pragmatic and ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving
- Flexible in taking responsibilities for emerging tasks, and experienced in engaging with multi-disciplined teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
