About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness

Salary:£45,592 - £55,653 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

They key duties and responsibilities of the Asset Engineer (Smart Monitoring) are:

- To focus focused on progressing, co-ordinating and driving solutions for suitable meta-data storage, a viewing platform and subsequent development of diagnostic tools, associated with substation monitoring that is presently being installed.

- It will aim to realise the value from site parameters collected by the newly installed field monitoring devices, via assessment, understand and have the ability to predict asset performance, along with the real-time integrity and condition of assets. All of which will enable more timely interventions to maintain and improve overall network reliability.

- You will work towards effectively harnessing data and analytics (DnA) to enhance strategic capabilities, enabling SSEN Transmission to transform into a data driven business.

- The role will subsequently develop into linking simple logic or background coding to view meta-data or investigate trending. You will support in identifying how Smart Monitoring should be progressed with regards to the meta-data storage, platform and DnA front for T3 price review period (2026-2031) and beyond will also form part of the role requirements.

- You will be required to present progress updates and options for solutions to Key Stakeholders.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience in; Data modelling, Data management, IoT or Coding.

- Good working knowledge of software-defined platforms, agile implementation approaches, DevOps and DataOps.

- A good understanding of data privacy and security.

- Effective communications skills to allow you to build and maintain effective working relationships with executive levels and senior stakeholders, including business transformation and relationship managers as well as delivery teams and suppliers is essential.

- You'll have the capacity to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a demanding environment.
