Job Description:

The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented and efficient data analyst to provide evaluation plans and reports that contribute to the implementation of SNAP-Education in 40 Florida counties. The Evaluation Specialist (ES) will work closely with a team in generating these plans, reports and other assigned tasks. As ES, you will be welcomed into a diverse and inclusive family of 160 people across the state. Join us in helping to create a healthier Florida!

What is SNAP-Ed

SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Education) is a federally funded grant program that teaches people how to eat healthy on a budget and be more physically active to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease.

  • The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP), has been providing SNAP-Ed in Florida since 1996
  • Funding comes from the USDA through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF)
  • We teach nutrition education classes where people normally gather, such as schools, community centers, libraries and churches
  • Our dedicated regional public health and food systems staff work to impact policies, systems and environments to support healthy changes in our communities.

The Opportunity

  • Develop and implement evaluation plans for community and school initiatives
  • Survey design and administration
  • Undertake data management
  • Conduct data analyses
  • Produce data reports and visualizations
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Coordinate meetings, and deliver training and presentations
  • Travel occasionally to programming sites throughout Florida counties

Additional Information

  • This is a grant-funded, time-limited position eligible for up to 100% remote work, though must live in the State of Florida. Program headquarters is at UF's East Campus on Waldo Road in Gainesville, FL. It is preferable that applicants live within a 2-hour drive, but applicants from outside radius will be considered.
Expected Salary:

$51,500 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Valid Driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in an appropriate area
  • Two years administrative experience in the evaluation field
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis experience
  • Statistical software skills e.g. R, SPSS, and/or SAS
  • Survey design software experience using Qualtrics
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, Power Bi
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
