Principal, Manufacturing Business Development
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
Fortescue Future Industries is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for a business development professional to support Fortescue's portfolio of green energy manufacturing partnerships and joint ventures.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Support the identification and development of commercial relationships and joint ventures for key products
- Provide strategic advice, market research, business intelligence, and fit for purpose business models in line with our manufacturing strategy and targets
- Provide commercial support in the negotiation of term sheets with partners, translation of those term sheets into agreements and manufacturing operations
- Lead and support due diligence, and coordinate and contribute to relevant exercises and reports
- Review and update the manufacturing strategy and operational plans
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the relevant products and markets
- Engage with stakeholders to frame and analyse key decisions and gather critical data
- Working closely with Principal Commercial in the development of business cases, and subsequent input to board papers and executive reports
- Other ad hoc tasks as required to support the Manufacturing commercial function
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience in carrying out due diligence, market research, commercial analysis, commercial negotiations (including term sheets) particularly in licensing and joint ventures, structuring transactions, etc
- A commercial and analytical mindset with an eye for detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree in a suitable field (e.g. business, finance, law); MBA or post-graduate qualification is highly-regarded but not essential
- Highly motivated and proactive, comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively in a complex environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Resilient with an ability to manage competing deadlines
