Job Description:
The Role:
Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility. Provide after-hours emergency as determined by the relevant work unit.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, full time day work (with on call) , 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 6 February 2023 until 4 February 2024.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:
Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $95,697 - $135,411 per annum plus 10% superannuation and access to salary packaging and applicable allowances and loadings.
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Demonstrated understanding of “Good Medical Practice – A Code of Conduct for Doctors in Australia”.
- Demonstrated commitment to medicine, including rural and regional medicine in Tasmania.
- Knowledge of recent advances in medicine including current drugs and technology.
- Demonstrated understanding of Infection Control principles.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with patients, their family/carers, medical colleagues and other health professionals.
- Demonstrated understanding of patient's rights and responsibilities.
Applicants should note that to be appointed as a Senior Registrar, the following additional Selection Criteria must also be met:
- Four years of post-graduate experience.
- Enrolled in a recognised specialty training program, successfully completed all fellowship examinations relevant to their training program and employment, and be within one year of obtaining specialist fellowship.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
