Corporate Development Manager
Work location: Perth or Sydney
Roster: Monday to Friday, Full-Time
In this role you will report directly to the Group Manager Commercial and drive the global corporate development strategy whilst working closely with global regional heads to pursue and execute regional corporate and business development transactions, particularly M&A and joint venture opportunities.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Research and networking to closely follow merger and acquisition activity in the green energy sector, identify market trends and to position FFI to participate in merger and acquisition activity.
- Screening, recommending and leading global corporate development transactions from start to execution.
- Leading and overseeing a transaction team responsible for executing corporate development transactions, including engagement of financial and other advisors, due diligence, negotiation and agreement of terms, financial modelling and valuation, securing funding and preparing investment decision papers.
- Supporting regional and country heads in their screening and execution of potential merger and acquisition opportunities and joint venture partnerships, as required.
- Preparing and presenting investment decision papers to the Investment Committee, CEO and Board/s for approval.
- Oversight of transaction execution and financial close in accordance with internal approvals and in collaboration with other internal functions such as Legal and Finance.
- Assisting in the successful integration of acquisitions, collaborating with other support functions.
Qualifications and skills required:
- A tertiary degree in a business / finance related field, post graduate qualifications are desirable.
- 10yrs+ experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance or other business development / corporate transactional roles in a global and fast-paced organisation, preferably in resources, heavy industry, energy or infrastructure.
- Experience leading and executing on a broad spectrum of merger, acquisition and joint venture transactions, preferably in the renewable energy or green industry sectors.
- Proven due diligence, valuation and commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills and strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong business writing and presentation skills, confidently able to present to senior decision makers.
- Resilient and self-managing with the ability to work autonomously, take initiative and reliably deliver on tight deadlines.
- Experience leading and project managing cross functional teams.
