Manufacturing Engineer - Process and Automation

Work Location: Gladstone, Queensland

FFI is transforming regional Australia through green industry manufacturing with a Global Green Energy Manufacturing Centre (GEM) in Gladstone, Queensland. Stage one of the six-stage project will establish Australia’s first multi-gigawatt-scale electrolyser factory – a world-class facility with an initial capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) per annum – more than doubling current global production.

Fortescue plans to establish its first Vocational Training and Employment centre (VTEC) in Queensland at GEM, in addition to Trade Up and Leadership and Excellence programs, with a strong focus on giving a hand up to Traditional Custodians.

As a Manufacturing Engineer with knowledge in process and automation, you are responsible for providing technical controls and systems software support for the manual and automated production and testing line. You will be responsible for making sure that all process and test equipment controls software is maintained and running properly to ensure consistent and safe operation of all equipment and processes with the goal of minimizing production and testing downtime relative to controls related issues. From time to time, you will also be tasked with making updates to system software and writing new software when necessary.
