Salary: from £32,700 (pro-rata) + performance-related bonus

What is the Role?

This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking for part-time flexible working within the Renewables industry.

As a key member of the SSE Renewables Capital Projects SHE team you will be responsible for supporting onshore project teams in the delivery of projects and compliance with CDM Regulations from early development stage, through to construction and handover.

As CDM Practitioner, you'll provide support, advice and guidance on all aspects of compliance with the relevant Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (GB and NI). You'll ensure there are appropriate systems in place to encourage communication and the sharing of relevant information between the Client, Principal Designers, Designers and Principal Contractors and that suitable arrangements are made to facilitate the General Principles of Prevention.

In addition to the above, you'll act as a member of the Principal Design team where a client team is appointed, and ensure all reasonable steps are taken to maintain control over the inputs of sub-works designers and that they comply with their duties under the relevant CDM regulations.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you should hold a relevant Engineering /Construction qualification, be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience in the application of CDM Regulations to development and construction projects, and have a minimum SHE qualification of NEBOSH Construction certificate and NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent).

You will hold a valid CSCS Card (or equivalent) and membership of APS, IOSH or ICS (or equivalent). Applicants who are in the process of obtaining relevant memberships will be considered.

You should be an excellent communicator with a natural flair for forging relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. You will have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and provide coaching /mentoring when required. A problem solver and critical thinker, you will be able to address complex issues making them simple to understand by adopting a well-structured systematic approach, understanding risks and implementing appropriate solutions. Above all, you will demonstrate awareness of both personal and corporate safety practices.

Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving licence is essential.
