Permanent, full-time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP

Duties

  • Assist the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) with the day to day management of the clinical coach, the permanent relief and casual pool and RSU including daily rounding and responding to roster and shift enquiries from permanent pool staff.

  • Positively influence the development of a skilled and safe workforce and promote effective communication channels with stakeholders.

  • Ensure clinical standards are maintained in accordance with policies and procedures, through the application of a high level of clinical knowledge and skill and promote and influence a patient-focused model of care according to best practice principles.

  • Provide support and act as a role model and clinical resource person to provide clinical advice and education to pool staff, making recommendations regarding clinical practice.

  • Assist and support the NUM in managing clinical based orientation for new nursing staff, inclusive of monitoring of compliance with mandatory training and onboarding requirements, including identifying and recommending education and development opportunities for new nursing staff and current pool staff in alignment with annual performance development agreements.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Desirable Requirements

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications.
