Process Control Engineer
Work Location: Across Pilbara Sites
Roster: 8/6 – FIFO ex Perth
Key accountabilities will include:
- Safety Practice - anticipate & proactively resolve potential problems to ensure a zero-harm environment through design/ formulation of technical solutions
- Commissioning of drives, instrumentation, and miscellaneous field devices
- Design and develop new control systems including testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems to ensure optimal utilisation
- Liaise with relevant departments to provide technical solutions for operational support and projects
- Technical Knowledge – Continue to develop processing & process control knowledge & skills to deliver continuous business improvements
- Build co-operative relationships to design new equipment and/or systems in conjunction with internal & external experts
- Design and implement purposeful improvement ideas based on detailed examination of anticipated or recurring problems of a process control nature
- Support the ongoing maintenance of control systems assets including PLCs, servers, network and communication equipment, and field devices
Qualifications and skills required:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, mechatronic or similar
- 3-5 years’ experience as process control system engineer in fixed plant/mining, with strong development and commissioning background
- Working knowledge of mineral processing plants and balance machines
- Preferred GE/Emmerson PLC Programming experience or extensive experience with other PLC brands
- Basic knowledge of Functional Safety Standards such as AS 61508, AS 62061: 2006, IEC 62061
- Good knowledge of GE CIMPLICITY SCADA software or extensive experience with another package
- Good knowledge and experience with process instruments
- Experience with Control system design and Profibus diagnostics skills (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
