Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry level End User Computing Specialist to join Academic Technologies, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve entry-level problems and provides entry-level maintenance for computers, printers, and other end user technology devices
  • Provide entry-level tier technical support for instructors using classroom technology, including both computer and audio/visual equipment in College of Law classrooms
  • Install and move computers, printers, and other end user technology devices and install designated system images and application software

Expected Salary:$16.19 – $16.52 per hour commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.

Pay Range Based on Market:


Lower reference point: $33,800 Midpoint: $43,900 Upper Reference point: $54,000

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Valid FL driver’s license required for driving University owned vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Some Crestron Digital Media, DMPS, NVX, and AirMedia experience desirable
  • Entry to mid-level knowledge with Audio/Visual systems, Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and mobile device support

Preferred skills, expertise and experience:

  • Demonstrate high levels of customer service delivery in an IT Desktop Support role

To be successful in this position, the incumbent must:

  • Be able to identify and create working solutions to technology needs and concerns
  • Assist management in developing technical strategies to best accomplish the goals and mission of the University of Florida
