Title: Electrician – Green Fleet Development
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere) some site-based work will be required.
Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off (Roster will vary for site-based work)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet.
Based at our new Hazelmere R&D facility, we presently have opportunities for a suitably experienced and qualified Electrician.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Providing safe, effective, and timely modifications and electrical maintenance to our mining equipment in association with Green Fleet projects
- Diagnostics & fault finding
- Workshop duties as required
- Work in conjunction with other trade and engineering disciplines to achieve 100% schedule compliance
- Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
- To provide any continuous improvement suggestions and to always operate in a cost-effective manner
Qualifications and skills required:
- Electrical trade qualification
- Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
- High Voltage Operator qualification
- Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation
- Hazardous Areas Awareness Certificate (highly desirable)
- Sound knowledge of the Electricity Licencing Regulations
- DC experience (Siemens Simanic’s equipment experience highly desirable)
- Experience with panel building and wiring
- Competent understanding of electrical schematics and isolations
- PLC and commissioning experience
- Prior leadership experience or a desire to lead would be highly regarded
- Experience with heavy earth moving equipment would be highly regarded
- Ability to work well in a team environment
