Resource Definition Field Supervisor
Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth
An opportunity currently exists for a Supervisor Field Technician to join the Resource Definition drilling team. Reporting to the Senior Geologist, this position provides all necessary support to the team to enable them to design, execute and supervise the Resource Definition drilling programs.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Promote and foster a positive and safety culture with the Resource Definition team
- Identification and rectification of hazards in the workplace
- Manage the safe daily operation of the field technicians
- Provide necessary support to senior geologist to ensure all drilling programs are executed safely in timely manner
- Comply with FMG site specific HSES and OH&S policies, work instructions, procedures and reporting protocols. Review and update these documents on a regular basis.
- Fulfil the Section 44 Appointed Person responsibilities
- Train, develop and mentor field technicians
- Assisting in the daily collection and dispatch of drill samples
- Managing consumables stock levels
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience in drilling operations
- Field experience in remote locations
- Must be physically fit
- 4WD Certificate
- Forklift Certificate
- HR Licence
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective project management, planning and time management skills
- Strong desire and drive for continuous improvement
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be eligible to work in Australia
- Class C manual WA driver’s licence, preferably with 4x4 driving experience
