Inventory Manager
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday-Friday
Summary of role
Reporting to the Manager Materials Management, the Inventory Superintendent is accountable for maximising availability of stocked parts, minimising the inventory value, and maximising operational efficiency. Primary focus of the Inventory Superintendent is to identify and implement leading inventory management practices in support of FMG operations.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Lead and develop a high performing inventory team and culture by motivating staff to maximise performance and grow capabilities
- Responsible for people management processes, including performance appraisals, performance management and development and training for self and team
- Challenge existing methods, identify and implement improvement strategies in line with optimizing Fortescue’s supply chain and aligned to best practice
- Develop and maintaining proactive and positive working relationships and open communication channels with key stakeholders
- Develop, implement, and review the policies, processes, and standard of the inventory management system, a.
- Develop, maintain, and review the inventory key performance indicators (KPI’s) in line with the business requirements
- Assist in the governance and compliance of the inventory management procedures.
Qualifications and skills required:
- At least 7 years’ experience in a similar position, with an understanding of best practice across multiple industries and organisations. At least 5 years supervisory experience.
- An advanced knowledge of all facets of Material Management, Warehousing and Logistics processes and procedures
- Experience in SAP inventory management and Inventory optimisation tools
- Experience in Vendor/Supplier Management
- Ability to work collaboratively with, and influence other departments
- Knowledge of business improvement tools
- Solid financial and commercial acumen
- Tertiary qualified in an associated field preferred
- Physical mobility to visit sites as required
