The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences has an enviable research record and is the University of Melbourne’s largest faculty in terms of management of financial resources, employment of academic and professional staff, teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate (including research higher degree) students and the conduct of basic and applied research.
About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director – Deanery Operations, as the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, management, and coordination of Faculty Strategic & Operational Projects. This will include supporting the implementation of key strategic programs of work across MDHS.
In a typical week at work, you may:
- Assist in the initiation, set-up, and implementation of Faculty and Chancellery led projects and initiatives (including the implementation of Faculty strategy)
- Provide expert project management support, delivering on Faculty and Chancellery initiatives, in collaboration with Faculty Directors, School managers and Faculty leadership
- Manage the development and implementation of project plans to stated objectives
- Develop project governance frameworks to monitor implementation, progress delivery and risk
About You
You will be a natural collaborator with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment. Your strong planning, research, conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills will set you up for success in this role.
Ideally, you will further have:
- An undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant management experience and/or education/training
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects, or sets of projects and initiatives to support the achievement of business requirements
- Demonstrated ability to make complex judgments and decisions and provide recommendations for resolution
- The ability to prioritise work and outcomes in a timely manner
- Demonstrated focus on stakeholder management and delivery of organisational outcomes
