Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Service Technician I\/II (CARE)<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

Example of Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
\u2022 Assisting with evaluations and rechecks
\u2022 Performing triage assessments
\u2022 General nursing case such as venipuncture, catheter placement, patient restraint, treatments, medication administration, and sample collection
\u2022 Basic anesthesia and sedation procedures including patient monitoring and recovery
\u2022 Participation in rounds with the clinicians and students
\u2022 Act as a liaison between the ICU technician assigned to the care of each patient and the ICU doctor
\u2022 Assist the clinician with the preparation of treatment sheets, lab submissions, radiology\/anesthesia and surgical requests, etc.
\u2022 Act as a point of contact for owners of hospitalized patients
\u2022 Facilitate patient visits
\u2022 Client education
\u2022 Act as a charge nurse ensuring appropriate charges are entered for inpatients<\/p>

Sun-Wed 7am-5pm<\/p>

Wed Sat 1pm-11pm<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

$20-$30 per hour, salary based on credentialing and experience<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician I:<\/strong><\/span> High school diploma or equivalent and two years of veterinary experience or one year of veterinary experience and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or a graduate of a veterinary technician program.<\/p>

Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician II:<\/strong><\/span> Credentialed veterinary technician with at least two (2) years of experience exposed to veterinary emergency medicine. Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT\/LVT\/RVT)<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

\u2022 Prefer applicants with 3-5 years of experience in emergency and\/or critical care medicine.
\u2022 Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program and\/or certified veterinary technician or eligible to sit for the VTNE.
\u2022 Knowledge of animal care and nursing, especially critical care.
\u2022 Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and terminology.
\u2022 Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.
\u2022 Ability to effectively maintain a working environment while in stressful situations.
\u2022 Ability to effectively communicate with employees of various levels and responsibilities.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>
