This will be achieved through developing a portfolio of projects centred on the production of renewable hydrogen, ammonia, minerals, and other value-added products. Title: Simulation Engineer
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Principal Integration Engineer Green Fleet Development, we are presently looking for a Simulation Engineer
Key accountabilities will include:
- Development of simulation tools to drive decision making on decarbonation programs, including electrification, hybridisation, and alternative fuel combustion.
- Help drive decisions on technology pathways, control philosophies and high-level engineering decisions based on simulation data/tools
- Develop validation plans to ensure simulations are of high quality and had fidelity required to determine real world constrains and conclusions
Qualifications and skills required:
- Degree qualified Engineering qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Analytics, or Data Science
- Demonstrated background building complex multi-physics simulations
- Experience with 1D simulations, primarily in Simulink and GT Suite
- Experience with SiL & HiL frameworks
- Experience with the testing, verification, and validation of models and simulations
- Software proficiency with C/C++ or Python
- Simulink model compiling
