What is the Role?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a trainee Business Analyst. Working as part of our Business Planning function, this role is key to providing insight to project, portfolio and business performance. Working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders you will support tracking and reporting of portfolio progress, performance against financial controls, key risks and opportunities for meeting our ambitious targets. This an exciting time to join our team as we progress a wide range of new and innovative infrastructure and digital solutions, helping the UK and Ireland accelerate to net zero with whole system thinking.
You will work towards a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification whilst gaining hands-on experience of how a project management office (PMO) operates, and have the opportunity to grow as a professional individual while you help grow the business.
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be ready to play a leading in role in our business planning function, driving development and improving performance in project controls, governance, project planning or management reporting.
- The programme can take 3 years to complete and is centred on work based learning and training linked directly to the job.
- By the end of the programme you’ll have gained valuable on-the job experience, new skills and an industry recognised accreditation, that will offer you the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector.
- You will be supported by our Apprentice Programme Manager, a dedicated mentor, your SSE colleagues who you'll work with during your on the job training and also by the support you will receive from your college tutors.
- The college course will be block release in Year 1 and day release thereafter and we will support you fully with this.

- Naturally, you’ll have a focus on safety and will adhere to our company motto “if it’s not safe, we don’t do it.”
- You will need to be 18 or over by the time of the start date in September, 2022.
