Mining Coordinator
Location: Cloudbreak
Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, our Cloudbreak operations are seeking a suitably qualified, highly experienced Mining Coordinator. The position will be responsible for the management and coordination of plant and human resources to meet or exceed the mine plan in a safe and efficient manner.
FIFO ex Perth to Cloudbreak working an 8 days / 6 off roster.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Safety
- Provide visible Fortescue Values leadership (lead by example) modelling and compliance with Fortescue Code of Conduct behaviours
- Provide and maintain safe systems of work in mining operational areas
- Provide and maintain safe workplaces
- Ensure employees understand and comply with safe systems of work
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents and provide effective feedback to work teams
- Proactively participate in Occupational Health and Safety activities and consultation processes across Mine Operations
- Production
- Provide input into mine planning processes to ensure practicality of mining plans
- Agree to and execute daily mine plan
- Effective utilisation of mining fleet
- Identify and respond to threats to the mine plan
- Identify improvement opportunities
- People
- Coach, mentor and develop Mining Supervisors
- manage short interval control process to drive Supervisor compliance to the mine plan
- Ensure compliance with HR management policies and procedures (leave, injury management, performance, etc.)
Qualifications and skills required:
- WA Class HR Driver's Licence
- 3 years supervision in large scale mining environment
- Ability to interpret and deliver to 24-hour and 2-week mine plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite, SAP, BMS or similar data and reporting systems
- Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
- Quarry Manager's Ticket (desired not essential)
