Technical Officer - Biomedical Engineering (503769)

Job Description:

The Role:

The Technical Officer - Biomedical Engineering is responsible for the provision of:

• Biomedical and Clinical Engineering services to the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and all regional health centres/hospitals across the North and North West.
• Complex technical support and advice in relation to a range of medical instrumentation and undertaking other technical activities as required.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day work, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 4 July 2022

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

• Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $73.602- $84,846 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electronic or Electrical Engineering from a recognised TAFE institution or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work
2. Current Driver’s Licence / Intrastate travel is a requirement of this role
3. Required to participate in an on-call roster

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
