Job Description:

The Role:
Carry out planning and treatment of patients with x-rays, electrons or radiation from sealed sources as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.
Associated duties include patient care, general and technical administration.

The Team:
The Tasmanian Health Service seeks a seeks a highly motivated and team orientated Radiation Therapist at the WP Holman Clinic, Launceston, Tasmania. The department has 2 high energy linear accelerators, CT simulator, 3D planning system and a high dose rate brachytherapy unit.
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the planning and treatment of patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist under the supervision of a Senior Radiation Therapist or Area Supervisor
Radiation Therapy techniques used in Launceston include IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & IGRT.
The Holman Clinic is part of the Northern Cancer Service which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Northern Tasmania. Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day work position working 76 hours per fortnight
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $76,421- $114,333 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Radiation Therapists Agreement 2019
Position Features:
There is an expectation that staff may be required to work at other sites of the Northern Cancer Service
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
