Job Description:

The Role:
- Plan, provide and evaluate specialist social work services to critical areas in the acute care setting.
- Mentor and supervise social work staff based on best practice in accordance with current models, professional standards and the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics.

The Department of Social Work provides psychosocial intervention to patients, their families, and carers. There are approximately 25 Social Workers employed by the department and we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and nurturing environment. This position provides the opportunity for a Senior Practitioner to build upon their existing crisis intervention and trauma-informed intervention skills. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the supervision and support of AHP1-2 staff in multiple areas.
The Department of Social Work operates from a robust evidence-based practice foundation, and provides a comprehensive orientation program, supervision procedure, team wellbeing program and professional development opportunities.
Details of Appointment
Fixed term, full time, day work, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 June 2022 until 30 June 2023

Salary: $96,689 - $114,391 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,245 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Post graduate, or progression toward post graduate qualifications relevant to the position
- Current Driver’s Licence
