Job Description:<\/th>	Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:<\/p> Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex network problems, regarding building level, layer-1, and layer-2 network infrastructure components<\/li> Configures layer 2 network electronics, which includes switches and hubs, as specified in the network design guide<\/li> Evaluates network performance, performs periodic maintenance, reviews procedures, and documents processes for overall continuous systems improvement<\/li> Follows best practices for new building construction, data center updates and major building renovation projects, including wall-plate equipment renewal projects. Integrates design standards and special requirements into complete configurations<\/li> Serves as a technical resource person for coworkers and customers for layer-2 networks on small to medium size buildings<\/li><\/ul> About UF Information Technology <\/strong><\/h3> The UF Information Technology division is comprised of seven departments reporting to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer. The departments reporting directly to the VP & CIO are Academic Technology, Research Computing, Infrastructure & Communication Technology, Enterprise Systems, Information Security Office, Customer Experience & Resource Planning, and the UFIT Business Center. Minimum Requirements:<\/th>	An associate\u2019s degree and two years of appropriate experience or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational\/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.<\/p> Must have a valid Florida driver\u2019s license to operate state vehicle.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>
Preferred Qualifications:<\/th>	The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:<\/p> Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, business administration, or a related field<\/li> CCNA certification and\/or equivalent certification<\/li> Knowledge of physical network infrastructure and components<\/li> Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP\/IP, DHCP, DNS, and ICMP<\/li> Provide excellent service through professional and courteous interactions with internal and external stakeholders while meeting business needs<\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
