Salary: - SSE07/08 £40,658- £52,214, depending on skills and experience

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours | Flexible Working Options Available

About the Department

Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

What is the Role

The successful applicant will be expected to have electrical authorisation up to Senior Authorised Person level with a minimum of NOP 2 status; they will work along with the Team Manager and electrical fitters to deliver Substation Maintenance for the Distribution Network within your regional area, this will be delivered in line with the output requirements of our regulatory settlement and against the programme set out by the Engineering and Investment team. You will ensure the delivery commitments within your work area, delivering optimum performance against the programme of works required throughout the price control period.

This role requires exceptional customer service with proactive communication and embedding a culture that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do, you will drive value through innovation, implementing a continuous improvement philosophy. Lead, develop and grow the skills and capability of your team through rigorous implementation of performance management and drive success within the region.

What do I need?

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Engineer who has people development experience. You should be fully SAP Authorised to operate the electricity network.

You will ideally hold an HNC educational qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience, have strong IT skills and a genuine passion and knowledge for the industry. You will have excellent planning and organisational skills, exceptional communication, interpersonal and engagement skills and the ability to manage prioritise and balance workloads within challenging timescales.
