About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices around the UK.

Salary:£39,400 - £59,000 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you'll be accountable for delivering condition monitoring services to our onshore wind turbines and hydro stations.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

- Delivery of condition monitoring capability, based on SCADA and vibration data from operational onshore assets. This will include provisional diagnosis and liaising with site staff to resolve faults and issues.

- Operating, managing and maintaining the condition monitoring tools, systems and software which facilitate the monitoring process.

-Dealing with internal and third-party providers of IT, software and other monitoring systems to ensure their availability and fitness for purpose.

- Reporting of issues by exception, ensuring that communication is clear and expectation of response is prioritised and acted upon with appropriate urgency.

- Integrating condition monitoring tools, models and capability into our second tier SCADA software Bazefield.

- Developing current condition monitoring capability, to incorporate industry leading best practice and innovative solutions to better understand our assets and identify areas for performance improvement.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, we would love you to have

-An appropriate degree and be working towards professional accreditation within your discipline.

-Demonstrable experience of condition monitoring and development of condition monitoring capabilities and tools.

- An improvement-based mind-set that will identify where value can be added to processes and waste removed.

- The ability and experience in data analysis and using analytical tools to manipulate and visualise data to interpret machine or plant condition and then communicate this using reports or dashboards.

- Knowledge of computer programming, preferably in Matlab or Python. An interest in machine learning models and methods would also be beneficial.

- An understanding of vibration analysis, either from condition monitoring systems or from portable units would be advantageous for the role.

Although this role is offered as Flexible working, you will be required to travel to your base office, other offices and site as and when is required by the work being undertaken.

A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.
