Principal Development Engineer - Electrolysers

Principal Development Engineer - Electrolysers<\/strong><\/p>

Work Location: <\/strong>Perth<\/p>

Reporting to the Manufacturing Development Lead, the Principal Development Engineer will be the subject matter expert responsible for mentoring the development of prototype Electrolysers and other green energy systems.<\/p>

Key accountabilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>

• Leading conceptual design through to prototype construction and testing<\/li>
• Guiding and performing detailed engineering of components and assemblies<\/li>
• Leading materials selections for various applications<\/li>
• Conducting FMEA studies and Root Cause Analysis as well as ensuring the design process adheres to ISO9001<\/li>
• Managing multiple projects as the lead engineer<\/li>
• Liaising with other disciplines to ensure product performance<\/li>
• Align with Fortescue values and safety culture<\/li><\/ul>

  Qualifications and skills required:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering Qualification. Post graduate studies will be highly regarded<\/li>
  • Greater than 10 years\u2019 experience in an active engineering design or product development role, or in an advanced manufacturing engineering role<\/li>
  • Experience in leading teams or guiding other engineering activities<\/li>
  • Research & Development experience, including developing products from first principles through to detail design development and manufacturing<\/li>
  • High level of experience performing FEA, CFD, and structural calculations to verify designs<\/li>
  • Reasonable working knowledge of chemistry and electrolysis<\/li>
  • An understanding of formal product development and lifecycle improvement<\/li>
  • Team oriented and highly self-motivated starter<\/li>
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, planning and logistics skills<\/li>
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products including project and vision<\/li><\/ul>
