Job Description:

Research and Design

• Perform business analysis and develop clear requirements
• Design user interfaces with an emphasis on usability and user experience
• Research and stay up to date with current trends in web development
• Identify various APIs available to create a modern, easy to use user interface
• Work with team members and end users to produce project requirements
• Develop wireframes to help with interface design
• Support data-driven insights with web mapping and charting


• Interactive web-based applications
• Restful APIs / Relational database access
• Integration with 3rd party libraries and in-house libraries
• Integration of web mapping such as Mapbox, or Google Maps, or ESRI map services
• Query scripting to manipulate geospatial data
• Collaborate with server-side and database developers
• Develop and execute unit and integration testing

Code Review and Participating in Project Management

• Version control and automated builds (CI) in GIT
• Maintain versioning of project dependencies
• Review project code
• Integrate changing best practices and standards into existing and upcoming projects

Level II Support

• Provide support and interact as needed with our users and stakeholders
• Fielding technical questions
• Conduct occasional web meetings to assist users with the applications

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields and 4 years of appropriate experience, or master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields and 2 years of appropriate experience, or other equivalent technical training and experience.

Skills and experience

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript
• Experience with one Object-Oriented language (e.g. C#)
• Experience with the Angular framework
• Experience with user interface (UI) design and wireframing
• Experience with user experience (UX) design
• Experience with BI tool/application development, especially with mapping, charts, data grids
• Full stack web development experience with data visualization
• Experience with version control management
• Self-starter, take initiative, generate ideas, innovative
• Ability to analyze problems, synthesize requirements, research solutions
• Ability to work in a team, good communication skills
• Capable of working on several projects or tasks at the same time

Working knowledge of

• C#
• Oracle and SQL
• .NET Framework
• Visual Studio
• Git

Background or familiarity with

• Bootstrap
• Kendo
• Highcharts
• Mapbox or Google Maps
• Web content accessibility guidelines
• Agile and waterfall development methodologies
• Material design
• Responsive web design
• GIS e.g ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Server or other systems
• Transportation related data, especially in transportation safety
