Job Description:
Fortescue is now consistently producing 175-180 million tonnes of iron ore per year and has an exciting future ahead as it diversifies from a pure play iron ore producer to a green renewables and resources company.
Southwest flights available. Even time 2/2 roster available.
Position Title - Boilermaker/Fabricator
Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster:7D/7N/7R or 7D/7N/14R
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will have a high level of technical experience and knowledge of mobile maintenance fleets and attachments, including Liebherr and Terex Excavators, DR580 Drills and a range of CAT and Komatsu machinery
Key accountabilities will include:
- Delivering a safe working environment and the safe execution of all maintenance activities. Engage and embrace our safety systems, procedures and permits
- Complete all tasked activities without the need for re-work.
- Raise notifications in SAP for machine defects. Include accurate parts lists and timeframes for completion
- Complete all SAP paperwork accurately
- Complete a thorough handover with your fellow oncoming crew. Set them up for success
Qualifications and skills required:
- Relevant Mobile Plant Trade Certificate in Fabrication/Boilermaking
- Previous experience on heavy mobile plant equipment
- Experience working with safety management systems
- Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance principles
- Understanding of Lean principles (5S, Visual Management, waste)
- Knowledge of the Mines Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- SAP,BMS Excel and Word computer skills
