Base Location: Orkney

Salary:£32,851 to £48,648 depending on experience plus company car/cash allowance.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week | Flexible Working Patterns available

About the Department

Our SSEN Distribution Operations teams are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

What is the Role?

As a Project Manager your main responsibility will be to deliver the annual maintenance and inspection programme on time and within budget. You can also expect to get involved with all aspects of depot work including; refurbishment work, fault repairs, new connections and problem solving during normal operating hours and standby. The job will be predominantly office based but you will be expected to work outdoors as the need arises.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, ideally you will be a senior authorised person (SAP) with demonstrable experience of operating on a Distribution network, LV,HV,EHV and MDG.

Preferably you should be educated to HNC level in an Electrical Engineering discipline. You will have engineering knowledge and the ability to provide immediate advice and make decisions to ensure the highest standards of customer service are provided.

You must be proficient in IT and have strong managerial experience with a proven ability to lead people. As a team player you should display strong communications, organisation and a willingness to learn and go the extra mile.

It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.
