Established in October 2021, the Health Research Institute (HRI), will lead Australia in developing research that will be translated into improving health services for the population across the lifespan, with a focus on developing and driving positive outcomes to meet the complex health-related challenges of our rapidly changing world.
The Director, HRI will lead the Institute to reimagine healthcare by bringing together health researchers collaboratively working towards a shared vision aligned with the UTS 2027 strategy. The role provides strategic leadership and management towards achieving the University’s research strategy and policy.

The Director will also liaise with industry and government bodies to promote and maintain the University’s reputation as an Institute of research excellence building national and international research links. This will include industry and community engagement, maintaining and improving a network of external/commercial contacts to develop strategies for building and diversifying HRI research income and the management of business relationships.

The successful candidate will be a leading scholar and renowned practitioner of transdisciplinary research collaborations with a track record of inspiring minds of the highest calibre. Your visionary leadership and entrepreneurial mindset should complement your capability to work collaboratively across sectors and disciplines while engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders across the Faculty and University, and externally.

Remuneration

A competitive remuneration package will be on offer to the successful candidate, including an employer superannuation contribution of up to 17%.
