Fortescue Future Industries are currently embarking on becoming global pioneers of a worldwide portfolio of green hydrogen, hydropower, geothermal, wind and solar resources, with sites targeted in regions of North America, South America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and Europe.
Moving to the next stage of the development of our North America portfolio, FFI is now looking to engage some US based experienced study and project professionals to undertake some of these worldwide opportunities.
Study Manager
Location: USA - The Woodlands Houston, Texas
This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level of a rapidly expanding, dynamic, global green energy business. Fortescue Future Industries is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for a highly motivated Studies Manager. This role is responsible for carrying out activities to lead the approved studies within the FFI Renewables Project portfolio.
To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with good understanding of both technical engineering and project functions. The candidate will possess strong technical and commercial skills.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Planning, execution and delivery of planned studies; objectively, efficiently and effectively by coordinating deliverables from across a broad group of technical and support teams
- Finding and assessing innovative solutions that add value
- Assist in building and maintaining processes, tools and systems to analyse options and the impacts to the existing, and potential future, infrastructure and operations to inform business case inputs
- Business case development for studies including sensitivity and risk analysis for the key drivers
- Liaise with technical support functions to understand risk and opportunities to the proposed operations and to enable timely achievement of project milestones
- The role will also interact with internal and external stakeholders and will be expected to effectively manage integration and coordination between the global offices.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering: Electrical, Chemical Engineering are desirable.
- Practical and solutions focused approach to engineering and design problems.
- Strong project management experience
- Strong experience in Renewables and Green Energy
- Extensive previous experience of early project phase gates
- International experience highly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with project and engineering teams
Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
