Job Description:

The Purpose and Structure of the Roles:
North West Regional Hospital Emergency Department (NWRH ED) seeks to attract talented, motivated Senior Registrars with the aim of providing:
- A high-quality ACEM Fellowship Examination preparation program to achieve success in the Written and Objective Structured Clinical (OSCE) Exams.
- Free access to ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd Program - NWRH has partnered with ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd to provide Senior Registrars with unrestricted access to its education program
- Flexible rostering to accommodate Fellowship Examination practice and rostering to the ED consultant role (as appropriate)
- 1 non-clinical shift per week to support Study and learning
- Reduced night shift rostering to 8 shifts in 6 months
- 3 weeks leave prior to each Fellowship exam
- A Fellowship Exam Preparation - ED Consultant will outline the program, formulate individualised learning plans, and provide mentorship through the exam process.

1. Written Examination Fellowship Program:
- Senior Registrars who commence in August will be supported towards the May exam.
- Weekly Written examination preparation sessions conducted both live and online.
- The ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd Written Program (for more detailed info – visit acemexam.org)
- 250 hours of education reviewing 650 core topics of the ACEM syllabus in SAQ format.
- 12 ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd trial exams, model answers and recommended reading
- Intensive 6-day Revision Program – run by ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd.
2. The OSCE Fellowship Program:
- Senior registrars who commence in August will be supported through the March exam.
- OSCE practice sessions will be incorporated into the working roster to allow maximum opportunities for Exam practice
- The online learning platform of ACE the ACEM (PTY) Ltd – see acemexam.org for more detail
- Live OSCE online webinars reviewing 60 OSCE exam cases per 6-month term
- 200 recorded webinar OSCE cases including detailed model answers, suggested references, and exam technique discussions.
- Intensive OSCE 4-day Course reviewing 50 core exam OCSE’s
Details of Appointment
Multiple fixed term, full time, shift work, position working 80 hours per fortnight until February 2024
- Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $95,697 - $134,411 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging
In addition to the above the Department of Health provides attractive relocation and accommodation reimbursements to successful candidates.
- Salary range is in accordance with the Salaried Medical Practitioners Agreement
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)

- Current Driver’s Licence (If applicable to allocated role)
