Job Description:

Classification Title:Extension Program Assistant, 4-H
Job Description:

This is specialized work to assist professional Extension Agents in community club development, educational programming, and school enrichment programs in 4-H youth development. Employee is responsible for marketing, fundraising, program delivery, and supporting 4-H volunteers.

30% Marketing & Fundraising

Developing marketing materials for 4-H program and staff booth/table at community events. Managing social media accounts providing information to members, families and stakeholders. Gathers resources for 4-H families; provides information regarding 4-H programs to the general public. Updates and maintains office webpage and monthly newsletters.

30% Program Delivery

Conduct a variety of youth program activities and projects related to school enrichment and day camps programs. Teach groups of youth utilizing prepared curricula. Prepare demonstration materials to aid in the presentation of school family nights and science nights.

20% Community Club/Volunteer Development

Recruiting, supporting, and retaining new 4-H participants and volunteers.
Assist with 4-H club and volunteer on-boarding process and manage youth protection compliance.

10% Training & Travel

Develops and improves knowledge of 4-H youth development subject matter, becomes proficient in determining clientele needs, understands various methods of reaching and teaching clientele, and develops proficiency in using 4-H youth development materials via participation in orientation training, continuous on-the-job training and self-study.

5% Reporting

Enter data in 4-H Online to track program participants. Assist youth and volunteers with enrollment and event registration in 4-H Online. Maintain records of programs and youth participants and provide report to County Extension Agent regularly as requested.

5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with teaching, communications, public relations, or volunteer management background
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Experience working with diverse youth and adult audiences.
Knowledge of records management principles.
Time Management skills
Organizational skills
Customer service skills
Ability to operate a computer and knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
