Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Lead Application Developer Analyst to join the Development Services Team in Enterprise Systems (ES), a unit within UFIT. We are looking for applicants who enjoy using their creative talents to produce business solutions which address the needs of, and create efficiencies for, customers at UF. Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

While participating in the full software development life-cycle, you will:

  • Work in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently
  • Collaborate with customers to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements
  • Devise and propose solutions for new projects as well as enhancements to existing applications
  • Create design specifications and prototypes, and develop documentation
  • Develop and test new code and data schemata
  • Deploy and maintain new and existing systems

Expected Salary:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, keep current with the latest trends in application development and have a history of producing quality work. The candidate must utilize analytical skills and have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership. This position must be a team player who enjoys using their creative talents to produce business solutions which address the needs of our clients and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

To be successful in this position, the incumbent must:

  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of junior developers.
  • Provide regular progress updates and escalate problems to the Associate Director.
  • Comprehend the organization’s application development strategy and develop solutions which best align with the strategic goals.
  • Utilize a high level of creativity to analyze requirements and produce technical solutions that meet requirements while making best uses of existing systems/resources; solutions may require development of creative algorithms and systems integrations to achieve optimal performance.

One year of experience with all of the following:

  • One or more programming languages (C#, JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP, Objective C)
  • SQL
  • HTML & CSS
  • Database design
  • Web application development
