About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow or Edinburgh

Salary:£32,900 - £49,300 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

Management of data is essential to the performance of the EPM business, good quality reliable data enables business decisions to be made with confidence and operational performance measured accurately. The purpose of this role is the provision of secure, trusted data that meets regulatory requirements, delivers operational efficiency, and enables innovative analytics to power business growth and profitability. Provision of efficient, effective and sustainable supported platforms and analytical tools which enable access to key data in an effective and timely manner, enhancing our ability to create value through commercial opportunities.

You'll be responsible for:-

- Ensuring the security, quality and confidentiality of our data through appropriate and robust Data Management practices.

- Maturing Data Principles and Governance practices that meet future obligations arising from the evolution of EPM's data strategy, align into data quality and fitness processes.

- Provision of accurate, transparent, quality assured data upon which business decisions can be made with confidence and operational performance can be effectively monitored.

- Undertaking complex data modelling, handling and analysis requests to support business requirements and future developments.

- Working closely with IT and business teams to ensure data and dependent processes are maximised, maintained and supported in line with expected service levels.

What do I need?

To be considered in this role, we would love you to have:

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks working autonomously and within a team.

- Experience of coordinating and managing technical data requirements and the integration into business processes.

- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to ensure quality delivery in a dynamic and operational environment.

- Working knowledge of IT systems and relevant Microsoft products with the technical skills to enhance existing solutions/systems (e.g. Python, Power BI).

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

While the location of this role is flexible within the UK, regular travel to SSE's Perth office will be required, with occasional visits to other sites.

Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) is the energy markets heart of the SSE Group, securing value for SSE's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world. We play a critical role as the short-term energy market asset optimiser, and a long-term energy market adviser, for all SSE's Business Units (across SSE's Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios). This role for EPM enables SSE to focus its investment in energy markets capabilities (including Trading, Risk Management, Energy Economics, Settlements and Advanced Analytics) in one centre of excellence, with these enhanced capabilities supporting value creation and decision making across the SSE Group.
