End User Computing Spec III

Job Description:
  • Assist customers with day-to-day computer operations. Perform initial computer and software set up for customers. Provide accurate, timely, and sustainable solutions to end user computer and network problems of a simple to highly complex nature to ensure end user productivity. Assist customers in the understanding and use of computer related equipment and software provided by the college. Provide quotes for computer and video conferencing equipment.
  • Design and implement solutions for deployment of operating systems, applications and updates using available tools.
  • Print/Copier and Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
  • Provide support for long-term and complex customer projects.
  • Create and maintain internal operating procedures using online documentation system. Maintain troubleshooting skillsets at a level appropriate to today’s technology. Research software for end-users, solve equipment and software problems in the course of reading, self-study and online activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

$50,000 - $56,000 per year annually, negotiable based on education, skills and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of Apple Computers and Linux Systems.
  • Knowledge of tools like SCCM and Jamf.
  • Knowledge of basic computer networking.
  • Knowledge of computer network security concepts.
  • Knowledge of graphics editing programs.
  • Knowledge of website design and concepts.
  • Ability to learn on the job from books and Internet resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with users and peers.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve computer problems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
Special Instructions to Applicants:

Normal work schedule is 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Occasional travel may be required for off-site computer support. Work outside of the normal business hours may occasionally be needed for urgent IT issues.
