Job Description:

The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is opening a 40,000 sq foot newly built hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), a high profile 300-acre equine facility in Ocala, 30 minutes south of Gainesville. The Veterinary Practice Manager will play an integral role in the opening of the hospital and is responsible for the management of personnel, facilities & equipment, marketing & client relations, and financial management. The critical competencies for this position include analytical skills, relationship building, excellent communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritize. A strong business background, leading teams, and previous practice management experience are preferred. This position requires a post-offer health assessment and background check.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 - $70,000; salary based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM); or a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with previous practice management, managing, and leading teams, and developing budgets
  • Experience in an equine veterinary clinic
  • Experience in a small animal veterinary clinic
  • Experience in Cornerstone (Hospital Information System)
  • Demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other members of the patient care team
  • Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude; Able to think independently and demonstrate good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills; excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of personnel in a positive manner
