About the Role

Base Location: Portsmouth

Salary:£32,851 - £43,385 + car allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time or | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

SSEN are looking to recruit a Technical Delivery Engineer who will be responsible in the field for guaranteeing that emergency and fault work is completed efficiently & effectively with a focus on fault cost, IIS and GS failures.

The main responsibilities will include;

- Working closely with colleagues in Connections Delivery, resolving challenges with planned works in the field. This role is also responsible for helping to continuously deliver safe outcomes for the workforce, customers and the environment and will demonstrate safety as a number one value.

- Ensuring that our customers remain at the core of every decision and will work diligently to restore power to external customers as quickly as possible and then ensure a full repair is completed and the job is closed, ensuring that customer and regulator expectations are met and exceeded.

- You will be the responsible person for ensuring workloads are prioritised, managed and repaired in the most effective way possible; this workload will cover all of the current Live Screen work and will be a field -based technical expert and point of escalation.

- This role is also responsible for responding to emergency events including severe weather as required in role and as defined by contract.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- City & Guilds 232 or equivalent and/or experience within electrical utilities environment.

- The ability and knowledge to engage at all levels and instil a high performing culture, sound business and technical knowledge of electricity distribution or similar market sector, an awareness of key stakeholders and customers for electricity distribution and an appreciation of other business functions and their relationship with own responsibilities.

- A basic understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives within the current price control period and a thorough understanding of local business plan derived from regulatory price control submission.

- A passion for safety and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently.

- A full UK driving licence is vital for this role.
