Job Description:

Office / Administration:

  • Staff the front desk and refer students and staff to appropriate areas as needed by Administrative Assistance.
  • Fields phone calls, take messages & directs them to the appropriate person
  • Greet and acknowledge all students, staff, faculty, and visitors
  • Manage office supply inventory
  • Maintain an orderly and clean facility
  • Maintain and update directories as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist as needed for various projects throughout the center.

Help Desk:

  • Assist practitioners and instructors in the Center's many online content offerings through email, phone calls, and texts, Monday through Friday.
  • Update and maintain data relevant to support tickets.
  • Update and maintain an online guide of common issues and how to best address them
  • Communicate regularly with internal associates about how best to solve issues
  • Work with the Support Specialist and Technology Coordinator to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the support desk
  • Must demonstrate fluency, both oral and written, in English and Spanish.

Learning Management System Student Assistant:

  • Assist the Lead Designer of Learning Content with the development of Flamingo learning management system and New Worlds Reading Initiative experiences
  • Design and develop these experiences using the available learning management system tools, HTML, and CSS in alignment with the branding guide
  • Load and maintain resources and assets onto the learning management system
  • Gain knowledge of current and appropriate technology and skills to design and develop diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning experiences
  • Maintain and organize projects and associated project files on designated cloud storage services
  • Assist with development of new folder structures and systems
  • Manage and track time spent on projects
  • Assist in the tracking and maintenance of ongoing project reviews
  • Troubleshoot simple user learning content experiences

Design and Development Student Assistant:

  • Design and develop resources using Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft, and Google applications in alignment with the branding guide
  • Create visual elements and assets to be used in the Flamingo learning management system and New Worlds Reading Initiative
  • Gain knowledge of current and appropriate styles and skills to design and develop diverse, equitable, and inclusive resources
  • Maintain and organize projects and associated project files on designated cloud storage services
  • Assist with development of new folder structures and systems
  • Manage and track time spent on projects
  • Load and maintain resources and assets onto the Flamingo learning management system
  • Assist in the development of learning management system elements

Enrollment:

  • Provides registration and enrollment support to the Learning Services team on a variety of online initiatives including programs such as Flamingo Early Learning, Lastinger Coaching and the Literacy Matrix Initiative.
  • Assist the team by tracking enrollment and inputting enrollment numbers on team dashboards
  • Tracking and implementing withdrawal requests
  • Other miscellaneous registration and enrollment tasks.

Marketing and Communications:

  • Provide support for gathering, organizing, and reporting market-related information across all disciplines (early learning, literacy, mathematics)
  • Organize focus groups with current and potential users and buyers
  • Assist in product management
  • Data processing, organizing, storing product resources, tools, and projects
  • Provide marketing and communications support for products
Expected Salary:

$12-$15/hr

Minimum Requirements:
  • Be a current University of Florida full-time student in good standing with the University
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Establish an exemplary work ethic by being dependable, productive, paying attention to details, and maintaining effective communication.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings, training's and evaluations
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours/week

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, & Outlook preferred but not required
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications, Google Workplace applications, Adobe’s
    Lightroom, and Premiere preferred but not required
