Job Description:

Following an announcement by the Tasmanian Government, a Public Health Direction was issued on 10 September 2021 requiring that all Health Workers are vaccinated against COVID-19. This step is critical in protecting both our health workforce and vulnerable Tasmanians in our care.

Applicants for any position within the Department of Health must be prepared to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment.

The Role

Tasmanian COVID-19 Testing Clinics are responsible for the delivery of COVID-19 tests to individuals/groups in line with the Tasmanian Testing Strategy.

Under the on-site supervision and direction of the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate, the Specimen Collector - COVID-19 Testing Clinic will:

Fixed term, casual, day work, working as and when required commencing ASAP for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $54,135 to $56,478 pro-rata per annum + 10% superannuation

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

    1. crimes of violence
    2. sex related offences
    3. serious drug offences
    4. crimes involving dishonesty

  2. Identification check

  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
