About the Role

Base Location: Reading, Havant, Glasgow or Perth

Salary: Up to £54,000 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE Distributed Energy is transforming the way it delivers value from data in order to drive net-zero. We're working on implementing a number of platforms to help execute on that vision, looking at things like Smart Buildings and Smart Cities.

Working as part of a fast paced department in a small team of data engineers/scientists, you’ll be working to deliver bespoke and insightful dashboards that present data for analysts and customers in meaningful way.

Some of the activities you'll be undertaking include:

- Designing and developing dashboards in Power BI (or QuickSight) for smart platforms (cities and buildings).

- Translating large scale energy meter and sensor data from a variety of sources into meaningful outputs.

- Undertaking complex data modelling/engineering/analysis to generate actionable insights.

- Validating and verifying technical deliverables through quality assurance and test processes.

- Working with the team to deepen analytical and dashboard design capability, as well as to make the most out of data science model output.

What do I need?

To be considered for the role, we would love you to be:

- Proficient in Power BI, AWS and Azure cloud technologies and at least one programming language e.g SQL, python, M.

- Comfortable working with customers to define requirements, scope works and deliver user training.

- Experienced in developing and deploying production ready dashboards end-to-end.

- Experienced in ingesting, cleaning and modelling data from a variety of sources to produce robust and transparent data pipelines.

- Analytically minded, with a track history of successfully telling a story with data to deliver actionable insights.
