About the Role

Base Location: Perth

Salary:£26,000 – £34,500 a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We have an opportunity for an experienced Linesperson to join our Transmission Operations; the key responsibilities are:

- Supporting maintenance and inspection operations across the whole Scotland region.

- Carrying out key inspection, maintenance & repair activities on our 132, 275 & 400kV Transmission overhead line networks

- You may at times require to work away from your base location area during the week and occasionally at weekends. Overnight accommodation and or out of pocket allowances will be provided, there will also be a requirement to undertake stand by duties.

- You'll be responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues, and act as ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do.

- This role can be demanding and you may also be required to respond to emergency situations

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Either an industry recognised OHL qualification for both wood pole and steel tower access and rescue or proven previous experience working on either electricity networks or on telecoms masts. You'll require to be very comfortable working at height, enjoy working outdoors, whatever the weather.

- A qualification from a recognised overhead line training provider, experience and or a proven track record in construction, maintenance overhead line activities would be advantageous, however not essential as training will be provided

- As this role requires travel to operational sites a full UK driving license is desirable however not essential as a willingness to obtain one upon application is acceptable and assistance can be provided.

- A good communicator with an ability to work well in a team environment, a sound understanding of our business and the environment we operate to, knowledge of current operations and maintenance activities, electrical systems and their geography would be beneficial but not essential as informative training will be provided.

- Safety is a key priority at SSEN and throughout everything you do, passionate about safety, you shall require to possess a high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do, be comfortable in challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes, you shall engage with your colleagues positively about safety.
