Job Description:

Following an announcement by the Tasmanian Government, a Public Health Direction was issued on 10 September 2021 requiring that all Health Workers are vaccinated against COVID-19. This step is critical in protecting both our health workforce and vulnerable Tasmanians in our care.

The Role and the Team:

As part of a team delivering high quality Occupational Therapy Services the Clinical Lead – Occupational Therapy (Workforce Development) will:

The Occupational Therapy department in Launceston has over 30 OTs who work across emergency, medical & surgical wards, stroke unit, paediatrics, inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation, transition care & community. The department has a comprehensive induction program, ongoing professional support and supervision, weekly in-services, a funding allowance for continuing professional development, a variety of research interests and great working relationships with other Allied Health professions.

Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $109,108-$116,218 per annum + 10% superannuation

You have opportunity to salary package a range of benefits including annual living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment, + other benefits if eligible.

You will also be entitled to $724 per annum for professional development.


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Postgraduate studies in Occupational Therapy, Public Health, health service leadership or clinical education and training experience or research experience.
  2. Current Drivers Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • crimes of violence
    • sex related offences
    • serious drug offences
    • crimes involving dishonesty
  2. Identification check
  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
