Base Location: Perth / Dundee / Angus / Aberdeenshire

Salary:£32,581 to £48,648 plus bonus, overtime & standby

Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time 37 hours & Flexible working patterns available

With its extensive telecoms engineering experience, the company provides commercial security with unrivalled in-house engineering resource to Service Providers, Large Enterprises and the Public Sector providing a wide range of products and integrated solutions including leading-edge SD-Wan, Ethernet, Optical and dark fibre services.

What is the Role?

Field Engineering is part of the larger Field Operations team covering the UK. This role is in a busy expanding team and we are looking for someone that will fit in and help support our customers and other team members.

What do I need?

Minimum educational qualification to ONC level in relevant discipline or relevant experience.

Fault finding, repair and maintenance on the core technologies below, including complex/non-routine without supervision across most of these technologies:

Data Networks, Optical, DWDM, Digital Microwave, PMR, Fibre, Cabling and Termination, RTU, PDH, SDH and Scanning Radio

Diagnosis and repair on most non-core technologies under direction.

Considerable operational experience on telecommunications networks and associated plant and equipment.

Climbing and rigging experience is good but not essential.

Personal Attributes / Competencies

• Ability to use own initiative to work to deadlines and cope with business delivery and commercial pressures.

• Capable of balancing workload and job conflicts and completing tasks.

• Work unsupervised and be self-motivated.

• Positive attitude to safety.

• Liaise with colleagues and customers to meet their requirements.

• Good communication skills.

• Willing to support other team members or non SSET staff in resolving faults.

• Ability to learn
