The Team

The Data Science team works with a range of business units to create, develop and maintain models and platforms that help us do things better, faster and in more innovative ways. Data Science currently power a vast number of internal operations and customer-facing features and products. We look at ways to continually evolve them and to create even more ways to leverage this important capability across Sportsbet. Our newly created Enablement team within Data Science plays a key role in identifying these opportunities, and to make them come to life with strong team collaborations across the organisation.

The Role

Part of a newly created team within Data Science, this role will Report to the Data Science Enablement Lead. The Enablement Manager role is key to a successful Data Science team, leading engagement with the broader organisation for Data Science initiatives. Ways in which we do this include: identifying opportunities to create value, defining clear objectives, facilitating prioritization, supporting the development and deployment of solutions and ensuring they continue to deliver value through their lifetime.

The Enablement function seeks to provide consistency and best practice approach for managing Model lifecycle, as well driving outstanding visibility and comms for current and future Data Science roadmaps.

Duties of the role include:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for Data Science to provide value.

  • Support prioritisation of initiatives across stakeholder teams

  • Work with data science, tech teams and business stakeholders to determine the most appropriate approach for a given opportunity.

  • Provide clarity of project goals, objectives and success metrics.

  • Work closely with project teams to define testing, acceptance criteria and ongoing metrics for Data Science solutions.

  • Be the interface between stakeholders across both business and technology including data science, engineering, development, and customer facing teams

  • Elicit and analyse requirements from stakeholders to ensure solutions are both innovative and fit for purpose

  • Be a Key driver for adoption and embedment of MLOps Practices across the Organisation.

  • Provide visibility and transparency to stakeholders of progress of initiatives as well as upcoming roadmap

You

  • Strong understanding of innovative Digital Customer Experiences & Emerging Technology

  • Able to engage with technical and commercial stakeholders to build requirements that support successful Data Science outcomes

  • Strong Communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of audiences

  • Able to pivot and reprioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Preferably strong data Science knowledge and/or Business Analyst experience

  • Team player and fast learner who will find ways to add value, both individually and through enabling their teammates
