Job Description:
This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and is responsible for academic administrative support and oversight of the graduate programs, graduate admissions and registration, including planning and implementation of operations. Responsible for technical supervision of undergraduate online courses. Responsible for website development and maintenance for the SLHS department. Responsible for tracking the ad missions and enrollment processes for the graduate programs and preparing reports for the department. Coordinate and organize graduate registration with software and communicate with graduate students for credentialing and onboarding. Coordinate effort reporting and asset management. Correspond with professionals for the purpose of providing critical information and negotiating complex problems. Maintain close liaison with and implement the policies of the Graduate School, Office of Admissions, and the College of Public Health and Health Professions. Student Services:
Provide academic advising for students in graduate speech-language pathology and audiology programs and engage with students as resource for academics, department, college, and UF. Maintain and monitor completion of academic program requirements. Assist Chair and Program Directors with student issues as directed including but not limited to accessibility, academic probation, C grades, honor code violations, student/instructor/facilitator issues. Coordinate and finalize all final term requirements including but not limited to degree applications, commencement activities, and exit information. Collaborate with Program Directors to investigate funding opportunities for graduate students that includes research and travel awards from Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD), University of Florida, and email graduate students opportunities. Assist Program Directors and Clinical Coordinators with graduate student onboarding. Assist with the development of a graduate peer mentor program post admissions acceptance.
Admissions:
Coordinate department’s graduate admission processes and procedures for the speech-language pathology and audiology programs. Monitor and maintain UF and Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS) admission sites to ensure applicants have submitted materials to both sites. Maintain new applications in CSDCAS. Support Program Directors with downloading and sorting verified applications for department admissions committee to a central computer drive location. Ensure Graduate School receives recommended graduate applications for admissions approval. Organize applications, department rubric, and admissions common evaluation. Pull CSDCAS reports. Communicate admission decisions to students. Work with Program Directors to ensure all admissions requirements are met.
Design, Develop and Maintain Student Data Systems:
Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of software systems used by the academic programs. These systems include the tracking of students from the initial request of information to graduation and beyond. The system will track the following specifically: Information requests, admission, enrollment, comprehensive exams, and clinical skills. Responsible for managing information input as well as information reporting.
Program Oversight and Administration:
Provide administrative support to Program Directors. Responsible for academic oversight of graduate programs. Communicate with graduate students on requirements for registration and records, such as immunization and pending information needed. Communicate with prospective students via email and phone with basis knowledge or graduate programs, post-baccalaureate program, and prerequisites. Assist with managing academic and clinical education in CALIPSO web-based application for speech-language pathology and audiology training programs. Maintain records of continuing students attaining benchmarks for progress including but not limited to grades of B or higher, passing comprehensive exams, obtaining appropriate clinical experiences, and meeting research requirements. Create and maintain program digital records. Assist with updating student handbooks, formatting and posting on web site. Collaborate with campus committees and personnel to ensure compliance with university rules and regulations. Oversee documentation of program coursework and grades for accreditation and reporting: course grade book and final grades including but not limited to assignments, research reports, and virtual clinics. Assist with gathering information for annual Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) report. Fulfill report requests from Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and Florida Board of Governors related to department’s graduate programs specific to enrollment, admissions, withdrawals, and inquiries, and market tuition reports. In collaboration with Program Directors, create and distribute annual graduate surveys and compile responses for report. Assist with logistics for graduate open houses and graduation. Attend program and department meetings.
Departmental Web Master:
Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of web pages and computer systems (software) used by the department. Create and update information such as photos, stories, faculty highlights, etc. Each semester, visit research labs, community outreach programs, classrooms, events, etc. to update photos for website.
Course Management:
Responsible for coordinating the technical development of academic resources delivered online for graduate, undergraduate, and post baccalaureate courses. Edit and convert content for delivery using various computer media.
Coordinate department’s effort reporting. Collaborate with supervisor to review and complete semester effort reporting.
Coordinate department’s assets/property. Collaborate with College of Public Health and Health Professions’ Asset Specialist on department’s annual inventory, new property, and surveyed property. Organize central location for audiology equipment.
Expected Salary:
$58,000 - $65,000 annually; commensurate based on qualifications and experience.

Research
Assist PI to track and facilitate all early learning research activities.
Lead or assist in the development of all research manuals and protocols, assess protocol feasibility, and make changes as necessary.
Manage evaluation and data collection activities in coordination with project investigators and project staff, including data collection scheduling, qualitative interviewing and transcription, online survey development and administration, response tracking, entry, cleaning and preparation for analysis, and descriptive summary presentation using research-related software.

Business Development
Support development of an annual Corporate Engagement Strategy to maximize near- and longer-term industry engagement per the KPIs to support the HWCOE Strategic Plan and key industry needs and trends. This includes staying abreast of target industry trends, market dynamics, and corporate needs.
Develop, recruit, and engage a portfolio of targeted industry relationships that expands HWCOE research and education endeavors per the Annual Corporate Engagement strategy. This includes visits, calls, industry days at UF, etc.
Create and maintain “industry front door” resources to streamline initial contacts to HWCOE for general industry inquiries. This includes working with appropriate UF offices (e.g., HWCOE Marketing and Communications) to maintain an “industry front-door” web portal and collateral materials as well as maintaining an internal database of HWCOE researcher expertise to expedite connections as appropriate to UF researchers.
Serve as an initial point of contact for corporate engagement and implement scalable processes to appropriately triage industry inquiries before connecting to UF faculty, students or administrators.
Relationship Management
Coordinate with appropriate UF, State and Federal Agency stakeholders (e.g., HWCOE Office of Advancement, UF Office of Government and Community Relations, UF Office of Research, UF Career Connections Center, Florida Dept. of Economic Opportunity, Florida Dept. of Education) to maximize industry engagement activities to the benefit of UF and the State of Florida. This includes service on appropriate advisory boards and committees internally and externally with regards to industry engagement.
