About the RoleThe Research Assistant will focus on stroke, working on the MRFF funded UPLIFT stroke recovery trial. Reporting directly to Associate Professor Kate Hayward, you will help coordinate deliver of therapy and manage participant data, ensuring compliance with research standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to stroke research projects, with a focus on the MRFF funded national UPLIFT stroke recovery trial.
Coordinate participant recruitment, including screening, scheduling assessments, and conducting intervention sessions, including the delivery of aphasia therapy.
Manage various participant data types in line with research standards, ensuring accurate data entry and checking.
Deliver training and support to trial staff undertaking aphasia intervention.
Actively participate in the REPAIR research group, engage in learning and career development, and contribute to community and professional activities related to the discipline and research area.
Who We Are Looking ForYou are a qualified Speech Pathologist with demonstrated clinical experience working with people with aphasia. You possess excellent communication skills and you can demonstrate initiative, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to scientific and ethical integrity. You ideally have experience in research project management and can travel to clinical trial sites if required.
You will also have:
Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Demonstrated clinical experience, specifically working with individuals with neurological conditions, particularly aphasia.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to achieve project goals.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in REDCap, Zoom, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Deliver and support Peoplesoft upgrades, design, build, deploy
Peoplesoft Campus Solutions functional experience essential

The primary purpose of the Senior PeopleSoft Functional Consultant is to support the design, build, test, deploy and hyper care support phases for the SiMs Technical Upgrade Project.
Makes decisions which influence the success of the project. Collaborates regularly with team members, users and customers and engages to ensure that user needs are being met throughout. Work includes a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, and investigates, defines, and resolves complex issues.
Has a thorough understanding of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2
This position will report to the Program Manager, SiMs Technical Upgrade, UNSW IT.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
Provide functional support to all phases of the Project
Assist preparation and execution of transition from Project to BAU
Prepare and execute Hyper Care associated with cutover.
Design and Test solutions
Analyse, resolve and test defects
Support Developers and Technical Teams
Develop effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that meet project needs.
Partner with customers to design and develop solutions to meet business needs.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level of support to the SiMs (Student Information Management System) and other student systems, including but not limited to expert level advice and guidance to users on system issues, resolving the more complex enquiries and ensuring satisfaction with UNSW IT services.
Perform a lead role working collaboratively with the project managers, vendors, and business users, including impact assessments, risk analysis, testing and co-ordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Coach and mentor more junior staff within immediate and wider teams, such as Functional Analysts, to support development their business knowledge, technical competency, and functional expertise.
Develop and maintain expert-level functional knowledge of business systems and their interrelationships with other core university systems.

Skills and experience
7+ years’ experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions including Upgrades in a functional capacity
Prior experience with the design and test of custom solutions within PeopleSoft
Prior experience integrating PeopleSoft Campus Solutions with PeopleSoft HR and Finance
Prior experience with prep and execution of transition from IT Projects to BAU
Prior experience with prep and execution of hyper care of IT Projects
Prior experience engaging across functional, technical, SMEs and senior management.
Prior experience in Higher Education, even better with UNSW
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Able to develop effective relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving with the ability to resolve and address issues as they arise.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
