In partnership with the Department of Health (DoH) stakeholders, and under the direction of the Manager - Servers, the Senior IT Officer will:
Support operational management of DoH computer, storage and core infrastructure to ensure continuity of service delivery.
Undertake research, analysis and technical activities required to design, develop, commission, maintain, administer and support both in-house and externally provided IT computer and storage infrastructure services.
Your Role:
Administer and support DoH computer and storage environments
Provide second and third level technical support.
Undertake investigations and research related to server and storage administration and support, security, integration and overall lifecycle management.
Advise and guide other team members and staff on server and storage techniques for the development of sound ICT practices.
Manage external service providers to ensure services being delivered to DoH comply with service definitions and levels.

About the role
Graduate Oral Health Therapist Positions are designed for individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor of Oral Health (or equivalent) within the last 2 years.
The role focuses on improving the health of Tasmanians by:
Providing a high standard of oral health care to children and young adults;
Delivering health education, health promotion and preventative outreach programs within community clinics and mobile dental vans across the State;
Supporting individuals and communities to increase control over their oral health
Where you’ll be working
Positions are based in Devonport, Burnie, Launceston or Hobart and their surrounding areas. You will be based in a region (i.e., North West, North or South) and have the opportunity to work in community clinics and outreach clinics across a region.
The Allied Health Scholarship Program will prioritise successful applicants for positions in the North West and the North.

Appointment details:
Appointment: Permanent, or fixed term, full-time
Salary: $69,117* per annum + 11% superannuation*Salary rate upon registration of the Allied Health Professionals Union Wages Agreement No 2 of 2022

Allied Health Scholarship Program
You will also have the opportunity to submit an Expression of Interest for one of our Allied Health Scholarships. The Allied Health Scholarship Program provides up to $25,000 to support the costs of studying. Scholarship recipients will receive $15,000 in Year 1 of the Program (2023-2024) and a further $10,000 in Year 4 of the Program, following completion of three years’ service with the Tasmanian Health Service (from 2026-2027).
A limited number of scholarships are available and will be awarded on merit. Scholarship recipients must accept an offer of employment with the Department of Health and sign a Scholarship Agreement.
An offer of employment does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded. Please refer to the Allied Health Scholarship Program Guidelines for more information and complete the Expression of Interest Form. The role:
Legal Services supports the management and delivery of legal services to the Department of Health (DoH). This includes managing the provision of specialist high level legislative review and legal support advisory services to the Minister for Health, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Executive, Strategic Executive and other senior managers in DoH regarding legal policy issues for the health system including statewide and national issues and developments.
In collaboration with key stakeholders, providing advice to support legislative review, including preparing or coordinating relevant legal policy advice, Minutes, Cabinet submissions, Parliamentary Papers, instructions to the Office of Parliamentary Counsel and other documentation.
Conducting research, investigations and undertaking analysis into emerging legal issues.
Assisting with managing the Department’s legal liability claims, in consultation with the State Litigation Office and the Office of the Solicitor-General.
Providing advice and legal policy guidance on contracting issues, including tendering advice, contract negotiations and developing agreements.
Assist with managing the Agency's statutory obligations, including Right to Information Requests.
